Tired this month
I've been tired so far this month.
In addition to getting back into my digital groove as to speak, I'm also filling out much needed paperwork. In fact I might just end up using the rest of this month doing that and a last piece for the actual month. My time's going to taken up by this work, as well as trying to survive the heat. I don't have AC so I'm always hot and unwilling to finish art stuff for the most part. And if I know the weather around here, August is going to be just as bad. And the crazy part was that the beginning of July was actually kind of nice.
For the remainder of Summer, I will be concentrating on trying to get back into the digital art groove, with doing small pieces here and there. I'm going to try to pop on here every now and then to post and work on groups. One of the objectives of getting back into digital art is working on techniques and such. I'm also searching around for good tutorials on various things in Medibang as it's my program of choice right now.
There's something I've been wanting to return to, and that's commissions, but I will strictly make them YCH commissions this time around. Timing on when I will be opening up commissions again is up in the air, but I will announce openings when the time is right. Watch this space!
For now, I'll be posting far fewer on my media sites until perhaps the 2nd week of August. In that space, I will also be withholding on posting dates for Mokka Week until I can have a clear week to do that before Inktober and Huevember.
Trying to tidy up
It's been a long while since I last posted anything to this site or even dealt with this site. It's hard to post for me given that I've only been on mobile for the last few years and haven't had a good working computer. This has changed (YAY), but I'm still trying to figure out a few things, like the new layout of DeviantArt and how a lot of things on here have changed.
As for other things, I still need to get back into digital art since I haven't worked with that for a year or so. I've been reading up and looking up tutorials for Medibang to see what I can do. The good news is that I've seen a few I really want to try out, and I might be doing that this weekend since I've got time.
Jurassic June is going on and I've been fairly not doing as much as I thought I was going to do, possibly because I have been busy this week and I'm being asked to clean up the place much more. The other thing holding me back is trying to draw good dinosaurs since I haven't drawn them much of recently. Just last month I got a new dinosaur book with lots of good reference material, so that's helping. The internet is another good source of reference material, even though I don't use that as much. This year I hope to include a lot more dinosaurs as well as a lot more dinosaur riders. I'm still on the fence about including a few prehistoric creatures other than dinosaurs and reptiles, but let me know if you wouldn't mind me posting some.
In other news, still waiting on :icon:colour-schemes: to post the color scheme for June I tried to submit. Hopefully they can post it this weekend.
During this hiatus here on DeviantArt, I've been posting more on my Instagram @ redvioletpanda. There's a lot more stuff on there, but I'm probably not going to post everything to here because it would take too long and it's too much. Also I've been rediscovering a lot of mediums I really like, such as ink and watercolors. I will be posting more of a diversity of art mediums besides digital from now on.
Anywho, I'm glad to be back!
Inktober and Huevember
One of the other reasons I haven't been posting as much is because I'm mostly stuck on mobile. I haven't gotten a reliable laptop/computer in about three years. I don't have the money for it, as the one I'm considering would cost an entire paycheck, and I cannot afford to do this with bills, rent and so forth. I'm actually been considering on getting a Surface Pro for digital art, but I'm in the same kind of rut with that. To do that, I need to move out of my current place, so I'm hoping this month at least we can get moved out. But with the holidays coming up, I'm still going to have to wait. I think I've waited for a very long time for this. I also need to get a smaller tablet I can carry around since the current one my mom begged me to get is too big for my purse and bags. I think I can get that in a week or so, give n the one's I've looked at under $70 or so.
As for Inktober, I probably won't be buying any new ink or pens this month unless it's an emergency. As of now, I've been using my brush pens and fine liners for my pieces. I'm also using my gold sharpie a lot for this year. In addition, I also managed to fit the Colors of the Month into my challenge this year. I have a lot of ink but also a good amount of ink that is running out and I hope to use up one this month is the process of Inktober and dip pens. I love dip pens. I'm also not using my metallic inks for the most part, though I have used it at least once. The metallic inks are going to be used in a few pieces for December. Right now, the gasenfude pen I have is really helping me out a lot.
This year, I will be doing Huevember, albeit it will be the every other day one as I don't have the copics for the full month, and I need to get refills for a lot of them since a lot of my markers are dying. I'll be posting my Huevember list for this year and I am considering on doing a Huevember featuring jungle girls. I still need a few prompts as I have about 10 and I'll be doing a 15 day Huevember. Even though I mostly have the markers, I still need to get refills and even a few markers here and there. Luckily I can get that in the next week or so. I'll also get a sketchbook for this one as well, perhaps the same kind I have gotten for Inktober, since it works much better for copics (although with bleeding) than a few inks.
Right now, My Hero Academia has been on my mind as well. It's getting to a crazy point right now in the narrative. I need to get the School Briefs books(I have the first) and I can't wait for the new season to premiere. I don't care that the first episode is a recap, I'm still excited. Going to watch it on Crunchyroll if it's going to be there.

New Year and New Work from me
One of my cats died a month and a half ago from a sudden illness. It was hard on me and my mom.
Money is a little tight at the beginning of this month, which stinks because I need to get a scanner.
On top of this, I still haven't gotten any news regarding a new place to move and I have been putting off on more than a few things (including getting said scanner and starting on my comic) to make sure I don't have too many items to move. This has been going on for over a year, and I think I'm just been procrastinating and needs to get a scanner because using my tablet's camera isn't going to be the be-all or useful for scanning in comic pages clearly.
In addition, I've decided to take over functions for a few clubs I'm a part of due to inactivity.
Though there is a bit of a bright side, I've started to get into a new fandom and it's My Hero Academia. The current arc right now is getting intense and I am hoping to draw lots of fanart in the new year as well as catch the new season this October. I can wait, I need to catch up with the anime anyways. Along with Steven Universe, JC's Avatar, Oban Star Racers, and Beast Machines. A part of my old fandoms, most of which has been heavily neglected this year.
For this year, I am also trying to do more black and white/grayscale pieces. I really don't want people ranting about how depressing it is for me to stray away from colors for a while (this happened to me a few years ago believe it or not), I need to work on tones and value.
Recently, I've found some really neat art tips from twitter that I want to try out. This might as well be the year I'm going to try to get my digital art game up along with my traditional art game.
For the last part, I've noticed that I've gotten some requests. I'm afraid I usually don't do requests and I mostly do them from color scheme meme things or those art memes I've found online. In the future I might post a journal asking for requests. Also on the subject of Adopts: I do not do them and have none to give. This might change in the future, but for right now, I have none to give or sell.
