I finally got this done in time for the contest. I've been trying to scratch out an idea but finally something staturated with red come to mind. I was trying to do a backlit look with this, my first ever.

Looks wonderful! I really like her pose and how you designed the greenery :D I don't know which contest you're talking about (I'm very behind on stuff on here) but if the contest isn't over yet, I hope you win!

It's been over for a year, but I didn't win. However, my character here has been very popular and stuff, so expect more of her in the future.

Thanks =D

Oooooh! This is my favorite artwork by you EVER! <3 The bright, saturated colors and strong shadows make this wonderfully eye-catching. I love the character's confident, mysterious pose and expression. The wrappings in her hair, the wrist cuffs, the necklace and bits of clothing... Her accessories are minimal but really effective. The green color of most of it contrasts nicely against her pelt and coordinates well with the vines and foliage. And the shading on her body came out awesome! :D This is really your first time doing backlighting? Wow, you did great! I like that the shading on her body is strong without completely losing the base colors being shaded. I think the vines would benefit from a similar shading approach to keep the lighting more consistent across everything in the piece, but that's a minor detail. All in all, I think this came out wonderful and it's going right into my favs. :+fav: Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I did mess up with the vines unforcunately. If I do another backlit one with vines I'll keep care to notice that.

Thank you for the critique and commentary, it's very helpful! =D

I wanted to be a very warm feel to it (inexplicably, it's been hot like summer here).
